full moon tonight

Well, it's the full moon tonight, and you know what that means: the Phantom will be out. According to the legend, and recent sightings, the Phantom sometimes walks across the lake at midnight during the full moon. So, if you're up for braving the cold, head down to the Lookout at midnight and see if you can be one of the "lucky" few to spot the Phantom.

snow!

Well, the dreaded four-letter S-word had to be said: snow. It's here, even though it basically melted as it fell, it collected in a few places and I'm not sure it will leave now until spring. I suppose it's time for it though, and snow is much better than the rain we've been getting - doesn't make the roads so icy.

I always say that I don't mind the cold as much as the snow, and it's true. Snow messes up the roads, but the cold means that the lake freezes and we can go skating! I'm not very good - I can't really stop - but it's so much fun and such good exercise. My boss' kids are little speed demons on skates and they love to drag me along when they go. They have figure skates and can use the toe picks to do all sorts of little jumps and spins. I invested in some hockey skates when I got tired of tripping over the toe picks, and so far, so good. I'll keep you posted on my ability to stop. ;-)

frosty morning

Well, it's a cool, crisp morning here. Everything is covered in hoarfrost, making it look like a scene from a Christmas card or motivational poster. I know I'm certainly motivated to bundle up before going outside today! It's too bad I have class right away, otherwise I'd take some photos to share. Maybe I'll have another chance later this week.

the drama club's first performance!

Okay, so this is SUPER EXCITING NEWS! The drama club that Professor Shepherd started is going to be performing "The Phantom of the Opera" during the winter semester break! We are working hard on our sets and costumes and memorizing our lines and we really hope you'll be able to come out and see the fruits of all our labor. I promise it will be well worth your time.
